Dr. Shari K. Moore obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri in 2018 and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts in 2008.
Dr. Moore knew early in her career that she wanted to serve patients from vulnerable populations.
“I believe the doctor-patient relationship is the most important aspect of medicine. To be most effective, we need to advocate for policy change which includes calling for increased healthcare access or food security,” Dr. Moore said.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Moore has extensive experience as a laboratory research technician and clinical coordinator. She also volunteered with the Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland to assist with Intensive Outpatient therapy for recovering addicts and relapse prevention therapy sessions.
As a resident, Dr. Moore is committed to patient advocacy and education.
“A patient is successful when they understand the diagnosis and the options for treatment. The most important part of the visit is the conversation with the patient,” Said Dr. Moore.
In her free time, she enjoys writing, mentoring medical students and public speaking. Dr. Moore is well known for her sneaker collection and interest in kayaking and auto-racing.
