Alejandra Miranda, D.D.S.

Dr. Alejandra Miranda was born and raised in a traditional household in Leon, Nicaragua. She earned her dental degree from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Nicaragua in 1981. In 1986, she moved to Florida with high ambitions of revalidating her license and was able to do so in 1992. Dr. Miranda worked as a general dentist until the fall of 1994 when she decided to open a private practice that she ran until the spring of 2014. To follow her beliefs in giving back to the community by helping as many underprivileged people as possible, Dr. Miranda was inspired to look for a job in a community health center. She joined Community Health of South Florida Inc. (CHI) because of its state-of-the-art equipment, relationship-based and focus on patient care comes first philosophy. She also firmly believes in CHI’s model of comprehensive care that is tailored to fit into the lives and budgets of her patients.

Dr. Miranda is a member of the Lindsey Hopkins Community Smiles Outreach Program, Latin American Dental Study Club and Nicaraguan American Dental Association. Committed to providing the best care possible for her patients, Dr. Miranda completes more than 40 hours of continuing education per year.

Dr. Miranda is in CHI’s Marathon office in the Keys on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. She speaks Spanish and English fluently. Her passion and hobbies include spending time with her three children and two grandchildren.

Dr. Millied Lopez de Victoria

Millied López de Victoria, DMD

Dr. Millied López de Victoria has been the dental supervisor for CHI’s West Perrine Health Center since 2007.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she graduated from The University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus School of Dentistry in 2001. She moved to North Carolina in 2002 and worked as the associate dental director for the Tri-County Community Health Council, Inc.

Around that time, she also worked as an adjunct assistant professor for The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill. She actively participated in collaborating with the East Coast Migrant Health Start Project and with Give Kids a Smile.

She is fluent in Spanish and English.

Dr. Robert Johnson

Robert Johnson, D.D.S.

Dr. Robert Johnson is the Program Director of Advanced Education in General Dentistry at The Brodes Hartley Jr. Teaching Health Center at CHI. He has been the Director of Dental Services at Community Health of South Florida Inc. since 1986.

A native of Virginia, Dr. Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. He obtained his dentistry degree in 1983 from Howard University College of Dentistry. While at Howard, he was awarded a National Health Service Corps Scholarship, a program designed to provide healthcare professionals to work in underserved areas of the United States.

After completing a dental residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington, D.C., he was assigned to CHI in 1985 as a staff dentist. For 21 years, he was also a member of the JMH Public Health Trust staff in Miami.

Dr. Johnson is active in a multitude of professional and civic organizations including the Community Action Agency of Dade County’s Health Advisory Committee and the Miami-Dade HIV/AIDS Partnership’s Dental Committee.

He is a member of the Migrant Clinicians Network, the National Network of Oral Health Access and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. He has also been recognized as a distinguished member of the Miami Dade Dental Society, Community Smiles and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Alba Hernandez

Alba Hernandez, RDH

Alba Hernandez has been a registered dental hygienist at CHI’s Naranja Health Center since 2009.

Born and raised in Colombia, she moved to Miami in 2005. She has worked in the dental field since 1998 and works hard to stay up-to-date with current dental education and technology.

Hernandez said she truly enjoys spending her days working with a kind and caring staff at the Naranja Health Center. She said she finds true joy in interacting with patients and providing the best oral healthcare that she can.

Her hobbies include traveling, reading and watching movies.

Dr. Watson Hamilton

Sheri S. Watson-Hamilton, DMD

Dr. Sheri Watson-Hamilton is the Director of Dental Services for Community Health of South Florida, Inc., (CHI). She is also the Program Director of Advanced Education in General Dentistry at The Brodes H. Hartley Jr. Teaching Health Center at CHI. Dr. Watson-Hamilton has worked at CHI for more than 25 years.

Dr. Watson-Hamilton possesses extensive training and experience in all aspects of general dentistry, including sophisticated digital imaging, root canal therapy, periodontal maintenance (continuing care of gums) and cosmetic procedures. She is dedicated to utilizing the latest techniques and advanced technology to offer patients of all ages the best possible long-term dental health.

“My mission is to provide high-quality dental care to our CHI patients in a comfortable, friendly family-oriented atmosphere,” Dr. Watson-Hamilton said.

A Miami native, Dr. Watson-Hamilton graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Morris Brown College in Atlanta. Having received numerous awards for her academic scholarship and leadership, she graduated with a dentistry degree from the University of Florida in 1996.

Dr. Watson-Hamilton is a member of the National Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and Dade County Dental Society, where she served as secretary from 1996-1998. She is also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the University of Florida Alumni Association.

When Dr. Watson-Hamilton is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys sports and family activities with her husband and two children.

Natasha Ford

Natasha E. Ford, RDH

Natasha Ford is a Registered Dental Hygienist at Community Health of South Florida Inc.

She attended Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach County, Fla., where she earned an associate’s degree in dental hygiene. Excelling in academics, she graduated on the dean’s list from Palm Beach State College in May 2010.

Anesthesia-certified and experienced in all aspects of oral dental care, Ford is able to provide patients with the best long-term and preventive care.

“As an oral hygiene advocate, my goal is to provide high-quality preventative dental care to all patients,” she said.

When she is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys sewing and playing with her two energetic children.

Dr. Angella Chin-Thompson

Angella R. Chin-Thompson, DMD

Dr. Angella Chin-Thompson is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville, Florida. She has been in private practice for more than 20 years in the Miami area before joining the CHI team.

A native of the island nation of Jamaica, her family migrated here to Miami shortly after she completed high school. She has made Miami her home ever since.

Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Chin-Thompson worked as a pharmacy technician at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida International University.

As a way to give back to the community, she has volunteered at the Robert Morgan Dental Clinic providing dental care to some of the neediest in her community.

Dr. Chin-Thompson provides gentle, competent, individualized dental care to each patient she cares for while listening to their concerns. She believes in always treating others as she would like to be treated.

Her professional affiliations include American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and South Florida District Dental Association.

Quality time with her husband and three children are her most important pastime. As an avid gardener, she loves the outdoors and appreciates all the beauty of nature. When she is missing in action, her family will tell you to check the garden.
