The Zika virus is particularly a concern for the farm worker and migrant population here in South Florida. Many of them don’t have the resources to be able to adequately protect themselves and most live and work in some of the most vulnerable conditions for mosquito bites
Dr. Christine Curry has been talking with her pregnant patients about the Zika virus for months, asking them where they have traveled and advising them on how to avoid mosquito bites.

Community Health of South Florida Inc. (CHI) is the first Federally Qualified Health Center in the nation to be awarded the coveted Governor’s Sterling award. The South Florida not for profit comprehensive health care company has been serving the community for 45 years. The award marks a milestone for the agency as the Sterling award is a difficult accomplishment that only few companies are able to obtain.
