Dr. Priya Atodaria earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, where she majored in Biology and minored in Religion. Dr. Atodaria is also currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health. She chose to pursue psychiatry because it is deeply rooted in her personal experiences, and she has a desire to be a voice for those who suffer silently. Growing up in a middle-class Indian family, Dr. Atodaria witnessed the emotional burdens that her parents carried without ever expressing them, choosing strength over vulnerability for the sake of their children’s futures. That silence left an impression on her. This experience, coupled with her clinical training and leadership in suicide awareness initiatives, solidified her desire to be a beacon of hope and healing.

Dr. Atodaria has the desire to break the stigma around mental illness, especially in the underserved communities, treating patients as more than just their diagnoses. Ultimately, her goal is to work in child psychiatry, where she believes early intervention can have a significant impact on young children’s life by providing the early mental health support they deserve. Through this work, Dr. Atodaria hopes to empower patients to overcome challenges and realize the countless possibilities that lie ahead of them to grow into whoever they want to be.
