Aliza Makhani, MD

Dr. Aliza Makhani earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Duke University and a medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. While in school, her interests spanned from community health to integrative medicine and health policy. Dr. Makhani chose to specialize in Psychiatry after seeing how much mental health care intertwined with structural barriers like poverty, racism, and trauma. Psychiatry offered her a way to treat the whole person while honoring her patient’s stories. Dr. Makhani is committed to delivering thoughtful, culturally appropriate care.
