Spring is a season of growth, renewal, and new beginnings and at CHI, that spirit is reflected in the work we do every day to support the health of our community.
In March we celebrated an exciting milestone for our Brodes H. Hartley, Jr. Teaching Health Center. We proudly welcomed 10 new residents into our program. These individuals represent the future of patient-centered care, and we are especially proud to highlight two who began their journeys at CHI as employees and are now continuing their path as physicians in training. Their stories are a powerful reminder of opportunities for growth and advancement within our organization.
Our commitment to prevention and education was also on display during our recent colorectal cancer awareness event at the Doris Ison Health Center. Colorectal cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in the United States, yet it is highly preventable with early detection and routine screenings. In this newsletter, you will learn more about how CHI is working to raise awareness, expand access to screenings, and empower patients to take charge of their health.
In May, we take time to recognize the dedicated professionals who make a lasting difference in the lives of our patients. During Nurses Week (May 6–12), we celebrate the compassion, expertise, and tireless efforts of our nurses, whose care is at the heart of everything we do. We also recognize Mental Health Providers Day on May 12, honoring the essential role our behavioral health teams play in supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of our community.
Thank you for being part of the CHI community and for your continued commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. Together, we will continue to uplift and strengthen the communities we serve.
