What is colorectal cancer?

Sometimes called colon cancer, colorectal cancer occurs when abnormal growths, called polyps, form in the colon or rectum. As time goes on, some of those polyps may become colorectal cancer.

Who is affected?

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the United States for both men and women, especially as people get older. If you are 45 years or older, you should get screened.
